Siddhartha G. Jena, a leading researcher in computational and chromatin biology joins MMI as Assistant Director.

Dr. Jena carried out his undergraduate thesis work at Harvard University in computational chemistry with Prof. Martin Karplus, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, and Prof. Jack Szostak, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine. He graduated from Harvard with majors in math, physics, chemistry and molecular Biology.

Dr. Jena went on to receive a PhD degree in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and is currently a research fellow in Stem Cell Biology at Harvard and the Broad Institute. Dr. Jena has published several papers in computational and experimental cell and molecular biology, including in PNAS and Cell.

Dr. Jena is the recipient of many awards and honors for his research, including the Francis Boyer Fellowship in the Life sciences, a NIH F31 grant for his doctoral research, First Prize in Medicine in the Intel, International Science & Engineering Fair, and the National Presidential Scholar Award.
